“OXI Day”: Parade with two Kindergarten children in remote Gavdos
The remote island of Gavdos, honoured the anniversary of the 28th October with pride and much emotion.
After the Doxology which took place at the Holy Church of Agia Triada, in the prefecture of Kastri, Gavdos, the whole island applauded the two young kindergarten children who carried the Greek Flag and paraded with pride honouring the Greek Epic of 1940.
At the same time, a wreath was laid at the monument of the heroes by an echelon of the Army and by the municipal councillor of Gavdos, Mr. Giorgos Papadakis.
The kindergarten teacher of the island, Ms. Maria Tsavitaroglou, gave a speech and the two students of the island recited poems.
