Wildfire burns forestland in western Greece

Strong firefighting forces are battling a wildfire burning through forestland in Nea Kalyvakia, in the municipality of Andritsaina-Krestena, western Greece, officials said Monday.

Authorities deployed 28 firefighters, a specialised ground team and eight fire engines to the scene. An aircraft is also conducting continuous water drops to help contain the blaze.
