Archbishop of Albania pays first pastoral visit to St. Vlash Monastery for Feast of Myrrh-Bearing Women

On Sunday, 4 May 2025, the Monastery of Saint Vlash in Albania hosted a festal Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearing Women. The service was led by His Beatitude Archbishop John of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, marking his first official pastoral visit to this revered monastery.
The Archbishop concelebrated the Liturgy with His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolla of Fier, His Eminence Metropolitan Asti of Berat, and His Grace Bishop Anastasios of Kruja, along with numerous clergy from the Archdiocese and various Metropolises.
The celebration took place in the women’s skete of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, which observes its feast day on this occasion. Faithful from across the country gathered in large numbers to participate in the Liturgy, reflecting the spiritual importance of the event and the deep reverence for the Holy Myrrh-Bearers in the life of the Albanian Orthodox Church.
