The President of the Patriarchal Academy of Crete visits Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew

On Friday, 1 December 2023, The President of the Academic Council of the Higher Patriarchal Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Crete (ΠΑΕΑΚ), Associate Professor Michael Stroumbakis visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate during the Thronal Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle. During his visit, he had a meeting with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Patriarchal Office, a moment dedicated to conveying his respect and seeking the Patriarch’s blessings in his new role as President.

Mr. Stroumbakis expressed to His All-Holiness the deep love, respect, and filial dedication of all the members of the teaching and administrative staff, and students of the Academy towards the Ecumenical Patriarchate, especially toward the revered figure of the Ecumenical Patriarch.

With paternal affection, the Ecumenical Patriarch extended his warm wishes to the new President and bestowed the blessing of the Mother Church for the success of the Academy’s endeavours and works, as it bears the name ‘Patriarchal’, reminding them of its sacred duty and mission towards the Church and society.

At the meeting, in addition, issues related to the functioning of the Patriarchal Academy were discussed, as well as proposals for a closer connection between the Academy and the Mother Church. Finally, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presented the President of the Academy with publications of the Holy Theological School of Halki and CD’s of ecclesiastical and traditional music, for the training and cultivation of the students of the Patriarchal Academy.
