The Feast of Theophany at the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos, Mt Athos

With all due splendour and Byzantine grandeur, the great feast of Theophany was celebrated on Mount Athos, and specifically at the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Barnabas of Neapolis and Stavroupolis.

The Metropolitan of Western Thessaloniki visited the Holy Monastery of Xenophontos on January 18-20, following the noble invitation of the Abbot, Archimandrite Alexios, and celebrated, according to the Athonite rite, the vigil of the feast of Epiphany, culminating in the immersion of the Holy Cross at the pier of the Monastery.

His Eminence was accompanied by Mayors of Western Thessaloniki and local government bodies, men from the medical and business sectors, as well as clerical and lay associates of the Holy Metropolis.
