The Ecumenical Patriarch at the Garibaldi Theatre in Caserta for the Jubilee of Hope

An event with the main guest, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, took place on Friday, 2 May 2025, at the packed Garibaldi Theatre in Santa Maria Capua Vetere in Caserta, Italy.

The event was held on the occasion of the catechesis for the Jubilee “Hope, a gift of the Holy Spirit”. The Jubilee for Patriarch Bartholomew “becomes an instrument in the hands of God to reveal Himself to humankind and to bring about His salvation as part of the eternal plan of salvation”.

The Ecumenical Patriarch underlined that “our sister Roman Catholic Church is living, according to its tradition and during this period, the Jubilee of Hope, that hope which finds its foundation in our Redeemer and Saviour Jesus Christ himself. In the biblical and Christian tradition, hope is not a simple moment of trust in something, but is a certainty, since it is based on God the Father, is incarnated in the Son and never disappoints, because it is a gift of the Holy Spirit”.

Senior pastor of the Christian Fellowship of Caserta Giovanni Traettino and Bishop Pietro of Caserta also spoke at the event.
