Event in honour of the ANZACs at the Athens War Museum

As part of the tribute to the ANZACs, who participated in military operations in Greece in the years 1915–1916 and 1941, an event was held at the “Ioannis Kapodistrias” Amphitheatre of the War Museum, in Athens, in collaboration with the Embassy of Australia in Greece. During the event, a brief presentation of the historical events was given and the documentary “ANZACs: The Greek Chapter”, created by historian Dr Peter Ewer, was screened.

The documentary highlighted the participation of the ANZACs through rare archival material and personal testimonies of veterans who experienced the dramatic events of the time firsthand.

The event was attended by the President and members of the Board of Directors of the War Museum, the Australian Ambassador to Greece, Her Excellency Ms. Alison Duncan, as well as representatives of the Political and Military Leadership and foreign Diplomatic Missions.
