Sunday before Epihpany at Halki seminary

On the Sunday before Epiphany, the Abbot, Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos, presided over the Resurrection Orthros and the Divine Liturgy today, Sunday, December 19, 2021, in the chapel of Panagia Kamariotissa at Halki seminary.

After the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Abbot offered a Trision for the rest of the soul of Ecumenical Patriarch Maximus V for the fiftieth anniversary since his passing (1.1.1972).

The late Patriarch was a graduate of the Seminary (1919), while later he served as secretary of the administration. He offered very important services to the Seminary as Metropolitan of Chalcedon, when in difficult times his actions saved the existence of the Seminary, while during his short patriarchal ministry, he was the instigator of the transformation of the Seminary, which was completed later, during the ministry of Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras.
