Phanar: The Second Service of the Salutations officiated by Archbishop Makarios of Australia

On Friday, 29 March 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was present joined in prayer, at the venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George, during the Service of the 2nd Stanza of the Salutations to the Theotokos, in which His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia officiated from the parathrone.

The sacred homily was preached by Archimandrite Kaisarios Chronis, Archivist of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Also present for the Salutations Service and joined in prayer was His Excellency Ambassador Mr. Konstantinos Koutras, Consul General of Greece in Constantinople, and a large crowd of faithful believers from Constantinople and many pilgrims from oversees.

In the morning of the same day, His All-Holiness officiated during the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, and in the afternoon he conducted a Trisagion memorial service for the repose of the soul of the late Archimandrite Patrikios Kaleodis, a graduate of the Theological School of Halki.
