Melbourne: A gift of kindness from our ‘Five Loaves Initiative’ husband and wife team volunteers.

At the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne, on 29 August 2022, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis presented Eleni Andrionakis with three donated $150 Kmart vouchers for children whose parents have been recently removed by child protection VIC, and are in desperate need of clothing and basic essentials.

Eleni Andrianakis, who has recently joined forces with the Five Loaves Initiative, is a Greek speaking Clinical Psychiatric Nurse with over 30 years experience in Homelessness, Mental Health, Substance abuse and people facing incarceration. Her heartfelt gratitude was expressed to His Grace for the couple’s generous donation of the vouchers.

Eleni often dedicates her weekends to take children in these predicaments  on shopping outings to use the vouchers for clothing and necessities.

In Australia, on any one given day, about 43,000 children have a parent in prison. Researchers estimate around half of the adults who end up in prison are parents.

We are pleased to announce that in conjunction with GO YOUTH MELBOURNE, Eleni will be presenting a talk with guest speaker Jody Murry, on “THE IMPORTANCE OF HOMELESSNESS AWARENESS”

Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Addiction and people that are incarcerated.
