Greek President pays tribute to Pope Francis at Holy See Embassy in Athens

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Konstantinos Tasoulas, visited the Apostolic Nunciature (Embassy of the Holy See) in Athens to sign the book of condolences following the death of Pope Francis. In his written message, President Tasoulas described the late Pontiff as “a true friend of Greek culture and a beacon of humility who elevated the conscience of humanity through his life and preaching.”
President Tasoulas added, “His voice for the marginalised and his Christian love will forever echo in our hearts.”
The full message reads:
“On behalf of the Greek people, and personally, I express sincere condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
A true friend of Greek culture, and a beacon of humility, he elevated the conscience of humanity through his life and preaching.
His voice for the marginalised and his Christian love will forever echo in our hearts.
May his legacy continue to guide us toward truth, unity, and hope.”
