The Ecumenical Patriarch visits his birthplace, Imbros

On Tuesday, 13 May 2025, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrived in his hometown, the island of Imbros, making his customary spring visit.

At the island’s port, he was warmly welcomed by His Eminence Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, the clergy of the Metropolis, the President of the Imbrian Union of Macedonia – Thrace, Mr. Pavlos Stamatidis, and many of his fellow villagers.

Immediately after his arrival, the Patriarch paid homage at the Metropolitan Church of the Virgin Mary.
