Former Bulgarian Prime Minister visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate
On Tuesday, 29 November 2022, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received Boyko Borisov, former Prime Minister of Bulgaria, accompanied by the Bulgarian Ambassador to Turkey, Angel Cholakov, with Consul General, Vasil Valchev, as well as his associates.
During their meeting, they had the opportunity to discuss, in a cordial atmosphere, issues of mutual interest, while on behalf of the Bulgarian-speaking Community of Constantinople, the Ecumenical Patriarch awarded him a special honour for his contribution to the renovation of the Church of Saint Stephen Balatas.
His Eminence Geron Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Archimandrite Charalambos Nietzschev, Head of the Bulgarian-speaking Community of Constantinople, also attended the meeting.
