Feast Day of Saint Fanourios in Yeşilköy, Constantinople
On Monday afternoon, 26 August 2024, a devoted congregation gathered for the Great Hierarchical Vespers and Holy Paraklesis in honour of the Holy Martyr Fanourios the newly revealed. The services were officiated by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi at the Church of Saint Stephanos in the community of Yeşilköy.
Following the Holy Paraklesis, Elder Metropolitan Apostolos blessed the traditional ‘Fanouropita’ lovingly offered by pious Christians. The blessing of these Fanouropites is a cherished tradition associated with the commemoration of Saint Fanourios.

The Orthodox Christian Society of ‘Saint Lydia’ offered the chanting at the Sacred Analogion, adding to the solemnity and reverence of the services.
Elder Metropolitan Apostolos welcomed the pilgrims from overseas who were led by the Abbot of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity of Sparmos in Olympus, Archimandrite Nikanor Papanikolaou, and then praised the great work offered to Orthodoxy by the Christian Society of “Saint Lydia” through the activities and the television station “4E”.
