Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew receives Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I, on Tuesday received the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa’s Metropolitan of Zambia, His Eminence Ioannis, as well as the Church of Greece’s Metropolitans of Ioannina and Fthiotida, their Eminences Maximos and Simeon, respectively.
His Eminence presented the Ecumenical Patriarch with artwork depicting the Theotokos, the All-Holy Virgin Mary, created by an Orthodox parishioner in the Zambia diocese, using the eponymous stone found the southern Africa country. His Eminence referred to “…a gift by the children of Zambia – the Mother Panagia to the Great Mother Church of Christ.”
