Christmas Toy Drive for the Perth Children’s Hospital
With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, the Parish of Sts Constantine and Helene in Perth WA conducted a Christmas Toy Drive focussed on collecting new toys for donation to the Perth Children’s Hospital. The toys were donated by the children, families and parishioners of Sts Constantine and Helene.
On Wednesday the 8th of December 2021, Parish Priest, Fr Terry Gerovasilis, along with members of the Church Committee and Sunday School Teachers, took the toys to the Perth Children’s Hospital. In total, 182 toys were collected and donated to the hospital.
At any one time, and particularly over the busy Christmas period, there may be 150 children who have to stay in the hospital for medical treatment and over 800 who attend the hospital as an out-patient for medical appointments.
The toys donated by the Parish will be wrapped and distributed to the children as Christmas gifts.
The volunteer staff of the hospital conveyed their great appreciation to the parishioners of Sts Constantine and Helene for their generous support.
