Brisbane: The Vespers of Love at the Church of the Dormition of Our Lady, Mt Gravatt

With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane presided over the Service of the Vespers of Love which took place at the Church of the Dormition of Our Lady, in the Brisbane suburb of Mt Gravatt.

During the service the Paschal Gospel reading according to Saint John was read in eleven languages; Greek, English, Maori, Korean, Chinese, Aboriginal, Romanian, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. 

In his brief sermon, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew emphasised the importance of peace and love.

At the end of the service His Grace conveyed to the clergy and laity the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
