Archbishop of Australia at “PHOTOGRAPHERS 5” exhibition in Sydney

The photography exhibition entitled “PHOTOGRAPHERS 5” opened its doors to the public on Monday, May 3, at the Macquarie University Gallery in Sydney.

One of the first to cross the threshold of the hall where the exhibition is hosted was Archbishop Makarios of Australia. He was welcomed by the Vice-Rector of Macquarie University, Professor Sakkie Pretorius, the Associate Professor, Panos Vlachopoulos, as well as the photographers whose works adorn the exhibition, and its curators, Rhonda Davis and Leonard Janisz.

The Archbishop after being guided in the photographic works and getting to know the stories told by the five artists warmly congratulated all the participants of the exhibition and wished them health, inspiration, and creativity. His presence, moreover, in this artistic event, is indicative of the willingness of the Holy Archdiocese to support every effort of artistic expression that reflects the light, ie the beauty, the quality, and the true value of the aspects of our life and everyday life highlighting them and illuminating the souls of people with these characteristics.

It is noted that the exhibition “PHOTOGRAPHERS 5”, which will remain open to the public until June 18 this year, is attended by the photographers, Effy Alexakis, Marryanne Christodoulou, Irena Conomos, Yiannis Dramitraos, and Tom Psomotragos. Among the many photographic works of various subjects and interests, which are exhibited in the Gallery of Macquarie University, is the series “Father Nektarios ‘Kitchen’ by Effy Alexakis, which presents through the special perspective of the artist his multidimensional charitable work of Fr. Nektarios Zorbalas in Newtown, Sydney.
