Ambassador of Israel visits the Holy Diocese of Brisbane
His Excellency Mr. Amir Maimon Ambassador of Israel to Australia visited the Holy Diocese of Brisbane and had a lengthy discussion with His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane.
Both His Grace and His Excellency spoke about the importance of common values and mutual respect that all people should adhere to.
Moreover, Bishop Bartholomew emphasised that unfortunately as a society we have moved backwards with regards to Anti-Semitic behaviour and the need to address this.
Bishop Bartholomew conveyed the respect and appreciation of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and the clergy and laity of the Diocese of Brisbane. Moreover, His Grace thanked the Ambassador for his visit and for his love.
His Excellency Mr. Maimon thanked His Grace for his love, support and friendship and wished him all the very best in his new role as Bishop of Brisbane.
Prior to their meeting, His Grace introduced the Ambassador to the clergy of Brisbane and gave him a tour of the Church of Saint Paraskevi.
