In the Archdiocesan District of Northcote in Victoria, the organised Youth fellowship meetings began, with an Agiasmos Service performed by His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, who was representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
The first youth fellowship meeting took place at the Parish of the Transfiguration of Our Saviour in Thomastown, where the opening Agiasmos Service took place.
Corresponding youth fellowship meetings will be held each week in the following Parishes: the Archdiocesan Church of Our Lady “Axion Esti” in Northcote, the Transfiguration of Our Saviour in Thomastown, The Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple in Coburg, St. Paraskevi in St Albans, St. Basil Brunswick, and St. Dimitrios in Moonee Ponds.
This year the youth fellowship meetings take on a special quality as the Holy Archdiocese of Australia celebrates 100 years since its foundation and the Youth is at the fore of setting goals for the new centenary.
His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, during the short greeting he delivered at the end of the Agiasmos Service, conveyed to the youth who were present, the blessings and love of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. His Grace also assured everyone that their Chief Shepherd is wholeheartedly by their side and that the Holy Archdiocese, through the activities and programs it implements, has as a priority to respond to the needs of the youth.
