Vespers of Forgiveness at the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne

On Sunday, 6 March 2022, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis officiated at the Lenten Vespers of Forgiveness at the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Efstathios in South Melbourne, accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Ezekiel of Dervis and the Clergy of the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne.

His Grace Bishop Kyriakos conveyed to the faithful the prayers and wishes of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and before accepting the forgiving prayers of the faithful, stressed in his speech that “the purpose of prayer and fasting is the way to find Christ. When we fast and when we pray we must be alone. And when we are alone we find Christ. Then Christ enters our hearts and leads us to places where we have not imagined that we could be found”.

After the end of the Lenten Vespers Service, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos invited all the faithful to a dinner in the Hall of the Holy Archdiocesan Offices.
