Unauthorised individuals collect donations on behalf of the St. Porphyrios Greek Orthodox Church

In a recent announcement, His Eminence Archbishop Alexios, the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem representative in Gaza, has issued a warning against unauthorised individuals or groups collecting donations on behalf of the St. Porphyrios Greek Orthodox Church and the Christian community in Gaza.

The statement emphasises that all contributions intended for the church and its community must be made directly to the church itself. Any donations should be coordinated through Archbishop Alexios, Father Silas, Priest of the Orthodox community, or Mr. Tawfiq Al-Amash, Manager of the Archbishop’s Office. This measure ensures transparency and accountability in handling donations and ensures they reach the intended recipients.

It is essential to clarify that no outside entities are authorised to gather funds for the church or the Gaza Christian community. By channeling donations through the specified channels, supporters can be confident that their contributions will directly benefit those in need and support the church’s vital work in the region.

The Archbishop expresses sincere gratitude for the ongoing prayers and support extended to the church and its people during these challenging times. The commitment to transparency in donation handling reflects the church’s dedication to serving its community with integrity and compassion.
