The work of Iconography of the church in Jeonju, Korea continues

The painting work of the church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Jeonju, Korea continues for the fifth day with miraculous results.

The Pantocrator, the Heavenly Liturgy, the group of the Prophets, and some of the main figures of the forefathers of Christ, the first being Adam and the last one being Joseph the protector of the Theotokos, and the four Evangelists on the dome have already been drawn.

Most of the Icons’ colour preparation (proplasmos), as well as their background, have been completed. Also, the depiction of the Heavenly Platytera, the receiving of Holy Communion by the Holy Apostles, and the Hierarchs in the niche of the Holy Altar has already started.

Korean visitors often come to see the progress of the work and the joy is “painted” on their faces, seeing their parish church slowly changing form.

On the morning of Thursday, July 20, the feast day of Prophet Elias, the Service of Matins followed by the Divine Liturgy was celebrated, during which some of the Greek Iconographers, who are conversant in Byzantine music, formed a Byzantine choir and enthused the participants with their chanting.
