The Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross was celebrated in Chalcedon

On the Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon presided over the Matins and Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

The Metropolitan was accompanied in the Divine Liturgy by Archimandrite Evgenios Karatzas, Oikonomos of the Ecumenical Throne Fr. Vasilios Ioannidis, and Deacon Asterios Bardakci.

On the Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross, 3rd Sunday of Lent, our Church places the Holy Cross in the centre of the Holy Church so that the faithful may draw strength and be strengthened in their spiritual struggle on the way to the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord.

The President and members of the Community of Chalcedon were present, as were many of the faithful from the area, who came to the church very early in the morning.

At the end of the Liturgy, the veneration of the Holy Cross took place and the Metropolitan distributed flowers to the faithful, wishing them a blessed Resurrection.

Archon Asikritis Mr. Fotis Katsis, who is charge of the Cathedral and treasurer of the Chalcedon Community, took care of all the matters pertaining to the feast day and reception of Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel.
