The Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross at the Phanar

On Sunday, 7 April 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiated from the patriarchal throne during the Divine Liturgy of the Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross, at the venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George at the Phanar, and was joined by the following Hierarchs: Metropolitan Meliton of Philadelphia, Metropolitan Irenaios of Myriophytos and Peristasis, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, Metropolitan Theoliptos of Iconium, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia, Metropolitan Amphilochios of Adrianople and Metropolitan Theodoros of Seleucia.

According to the custom of the Patriarchate, the Chief Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod, Archimandrite Vosporios, liturgised along with the Undersecretary of the Synod, Deacon Oikoumenios

The holy sermon, according to custom, was preached by the Grand Archdeacon, Father Alexandros.

Present also for the Divine Liturgy were Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and numerous faithful from Constantinople and from abroad.
