The Sunday of Orthodoxy 2024 at the Phanar

On the Sunday of Orthodoxy, 24 March 2024, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the customary Patriarchal and Synodal Divine Liturgy, which took place at the venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George at the Phanar, during which the ordination to the diaconate of Mr. Vasilios Pokhylets from Ukraine took place, who will henceforth serve the needs of the Holy Metropolis of Korea.

The panegyric feast day homily was delivered by His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Kos and Nisyros.

After the dismissal, the customary Trisagion Memorial Service was conducted “for the repose of the souls of those who fought and died for our Orthodox faith” and was followed by the procession of the holy icons led by the Patriarch and the concelebrating Hierarchs.

Afterwards, the newly ordained deacon and the Patriarch spoke in the Throne Room.
