The President of the Hellenic Republic, Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, during her official visit to Vienna, at the invitation of her Austrian counterpart, Mr. Alexander van der Bellen, attended a reception held in her honour at the Ambassador’s residence. The gathering was attended by Greek expatriates and hosted by Greece’s Ambassador in Austria, His Excellency Mr. Giorgos Iliopoulos.
In the President’s address to the members of the Greek diaspora, President Sakellaropoulou highlighted their significant role in fortifying the bilateral ties between Greece and Austria, underscoring the invaluable contributions of Hellenism across the globe.
President Sakellaropoulou engaged in substantive discussions with the Austrian President and also visited the country’s Parliament during her stay.
Additionally, she made a meaningful visit to the Holy Metropolis of Austria, extending her respects and receiving a warm welcome from His Eminence Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria and Exarch of Hungary and Central Europe. His Eminence graciously guided her to the Metropolitan Church of the Holy Trinity.
