The Holy Metropolis of Patras supports missionary efforts in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo

On Monday, 12 February 2024, at the invitation of His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, Elder Nektarios Moulatsiotis, accompanied by fathers from the Monastery of Saint Nektarios in Trikorfo, Fokida, graced the Agape Dinner organised to support the missionary endeavours of the Holy Metropolis of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The gathering was attended by His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, His Eminence Metropolitan Theodosios of Kinshasa, clergy from the Holy Metropolis of Patras, and local dignitaries.

During the dinner, Metropolitan Theodosios of Kinshasa shared the daily challenges encountered in their mission, along with the significant efforts undertaken by the Holy Metropolis of Kinshasa. These efforts encompass not only spiritual guidance and rebirth of the region but also humanitarian aid for the local people. He also shed light on the obstacles posed by other religious denominations, particularly the recent surge in Islamic influence aimed at converting the inhabitants.

In support of these crucial missionary endeavours in Africa, the Panhellenic Association of Orthodox Mission “Saint John Chrysostom,” under the auspices of His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras, organised the Agape Dinner, for the strengthening of the difficult and very important missionary work that is carried out in the African land, with the great struggles of both His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and all Africa as well as the Metropolitan of Kinshasa, as characteristically referred to by His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Patras.

The event was graced by the presence of the Dance Association of the Youth Group of Saint Irene Riganokampos of Patras, who showcased traditional Macedonian dances.
