The Great Feast of Pascha celebrated with grandeur in Perth 

On Great and Holy Saturday evening, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, officiated at the Resurrection Service and the Paschal Divine Liturgy at the Church of St Nektarios in Dianella.

At the conclusion of the Resurrection Service, just after midnight, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia’s Paschal Message was read by His Grace Bishop Elpidios. In His message, His Eminence stated:

“Live and experience the joy of the Resurrection. Do not be afraid to be filled with joy, because where there is a lack of joy, Christ is absent. Live the joy of the Resurrection in communion and unity with the Resurrected Christ, without fear, despair, self-pity, and misery; but with courage, optimism, and faith in His Word: “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Following the reciting of His Eminence’s message, the Consul of Greece in Perth, Mrs Georgia Karasiotou, also delivered a brief Paschal message and reminded everyone on the forthcoming visit of the Ambassador of Greece in Australia, His Excellency Mr Stavros Venizelos, to Perth during Bright Week.

Once the Resurrection Service had ended, His Grace Bishop Elpidios invited everyone back to the church for the Paschal Hierarchical Matins and Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom.
