The Glorious Resurrection of Christ celebrated in Kyiv

On 20 April 2025, the Holy Orthodox Church celebrates its greatest and most glorious feast – the Glorious Resurrection of Christ.
During the Paschal night, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the solemn services at the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine were Archbishop Agapit of Vyshhorod, abbot of the Golden-Domed Monastery; Bishop Yefrem of Vasylkiv; the venerable brotherhood of the monastery; and invited clergy.
At the end of the Paschal Matins, Archbishop Agapit read the famous Catechetical Homily of St. John Chrysostom for Holy and Great Pascha.
During the Divine Liturgy, following the Gospel—which was traditionally read in multiple languages—Metropolitan Epifaniy delivered his Paschal message to the hierarchs, clergy, monastics, and all faithful Orthodox Christians of Ukraine.
Prayers were also offered for the soldiers defending Ukraine, for the government and people, and for the repose of all fallen defenders and innocent civilians who perished during the war.
His Beatitude also offered a special prayer for Ukraine during this time of trial and danger.
At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Epifaniy blessed the artos (a large Paschal loaf), as well as traditional Easter bread (pasky) and other offerings.
