The Feast of the Resurrection at the renowned Stavrodromi Community in Constantinople

In a particularly reverent atmosphere, the Service of the Resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was held in the Holy Churches of the Holy Trinity and in the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, in the renowned Stavrodromi Community in Constantinople. The bells rang joyfully and the priests chanted “Christ is Risen” in the courtyards of the Churches.

At the Church of the Holy Trinity, the Resurrection Service was presided over by the Hierarchical Vicar, His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, where the Consul Mr. Theophilos Georgakis also attended.

At the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, His Grace Bishop Benjamin of Tralee presided over the Resurrection Matins and Divine Liturgy.

Believers from Constantinople and Greece attended the services at the two Churches of the Stavrodromi Community, holding candles with the Holy Light while chanting “Christ is Risen” together with the priests. After the dismissal, they cracked the red Paschal eggs and drank warm milk, observing the ancestral custom again this year.
