The feast of Saint Marina in Brussels
The memory of the Holy Great Martyr Marina was honoured with splendour in the Holy Metropolis of Belgium at the celebrating parish in Brussels.
On Sunday afternoon, 16 July 2023, His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg officiated at the Vespers, while the next day, the main day of the feast, the Metropolitan of Belgium presided over the Divine Liturgy, with the participation of clergy from the parishes of Brussels. During his sermon, the Metropolitan referred to the life of the saint and how she can inspire the faithful to love God.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan thanked the Parish Priest Fr. Georgios Kokkonas, and his co-workers for the detailed organisation of the feast day, the local clergy for their participation, as well as the faithful who came to honour the memory of Saint Marina.
