The Feast Day of the Venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George, Phanar
On the Monday of Pascha, 6 May 2024, in an atmosphere of the joy of the Resurrection and due reverence, the Venerable Patriarchal Church celebrated the memory of its protector and patron, Saint George the Great Martyr George and Trophy Bearer.
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was also present, joined in prayer from the Holy Altar, during the Poly-Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, which was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Andreas of Forty Churches, and concelebrated with Their Eminences, Metropolitan Ioakeim of Bursa and Metropolitan Theodors of Seleucia.
During the Divine Liturgy, the customary Artoklasia (Blessing of the Five Loaves) took place for the beloved children of the Holy Great Church of Christ in America, but also throughout the world.
After the Dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, His All-Holiness distributed red Easter eggs to the congregation.
Also present for the Divine Liturgy were Their Eminences, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Vize and Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra, along with Archons of the Great Church of Christ and many faithful believers from Constantinople.
