The Feast Day of the Church of Panagia Elpida of Kontoskalion
On the occasion of the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, on Tuesday 15 August 2023, the grand and historic Church of Panagia Elpida in Konstoskali, Constantinople celebrated festively and with due splendour. His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, Overseer of the Districts of Hypsomatheia, Vlagas and Kontoskalion, officiated at the feast day, whilst many faithful from the City of Constantinople and abroad also attended.
It should be noted that in the area where the Holy Church is located, there was a Byzantine Monastery of ‘Panagia of certain hope’.
