The Feast Day of the Apostles Peter and Paul was celebrated at the Phanar
His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy, which took place on Thursday, 29 June 2023, at the Venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George, Phanar, on the ocassion of the feast of the Holy Glorious and All-Praised Leaders of the Apostles, Peter and Paul.
Present also for the Divine Liturgy were, Roman Catholic Bishop Antonio Stagliano, President of the Pontifical Academy of Theology of the Vatican, His Grace Bishop-elect Theophanis of Philomelion, clergy and nuns, the Consul General of Greece in Constantinople, Ms. Georgia Soultanopoulou, and several faithful believers.
On the eve of the feast, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Great Vespers of the Feast.
On both days, a fragment of the Holy Relic of Saint Peter, which Pope Francis of Rome offered to the Church of Constantinople in 2019, was exhibited for veneration by the faithful.
