The Feast Day of Saint Dimitrios in Prahran, Melbourne

The memory of Saint Dimitrios the Great Martyr and Myrrh-flowing was celebrated with due ecclesiastical splendour in the Archdiocesan District of Melbourne. The centre of the feast day services took place at the celebrating Church of Saint Dimitrios in the suburb of Prahran, where His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Melbourne, officiated.

His Grace Bishop Kyriakos officiated at the Great Vespers on the eve of the feast and presided over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on the feast day.

Addressing the faithful, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis spoke appropriately about the person and virtues of the honoured Saint Dimitrios, while also conveying to everyone the paternal wishes and love of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

Present for the feast day celebrations, among others, were the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Mr. Emmanuel Kakavelakis, and the President of the Greek Community of Melbourne, Mr. Bill Papastergiadis.
