‘The Evzones Collection’ by Nick Bourdaniotis opens at ‘Beta- The Grand’ in Sydney

For three days, and specifically during the period from 27 to 29 May, 2022, the Photo Exhibition “The Evzones Collection” by Nick Bourdaniotis will be hosted in the renovated building “Beta – The Grand” in Sydney.

The Exhibition, which was included in the national program for the celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821, under the auspices of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, includes a series of separate photographs taken by the expatriate photographer from the Presidential Guard of the Hellenic Republic.

It has attracted over 7,000 visitors during its presentation at various venues across Australia, most recently the National Museum in Canberra and the Maritime Museum in Sydney, while it has helped raise more than $ 40,000 for charities nationwide.

During the three days from 27-29 May, the first public presentation of the Exhibition will take place, organised by the Hellenic Club Sydney.  The director of the Exhibition, Mr. George Karantonis, and its curator, Mrs. Irini Aligianni, will undertake to guide the visitors and introduce them to the Evzones of the Greek Presidential Guard, through rare photographic snapshots from behind the scenes of formal ceremonies and from their daily lives.

It is of particular worth to note that the Photo Exhibition “The Evzones Collection” is going to travel to Greece in 2023, and be hosted for a month at the Athens War Museum, in collaboration with the celebrations of the 202nd Anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821.
