The Archbishop of Finland to visit the Ecumenical Patriarchate

His Eminence Archbishop Leo of Helsinki and All Finland, who is currently visiting the city of Constantinople from today, Thursday, 11 April until Tuesday, 16 April 2024, will meet with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Phanar.

This will be the first meeting between the two Hierarchs since the Ecumenical Patriarch’s visit to Finland in September 2023.

“The visit related to the celebration of the autonomy of our Church took place on a very tight schedule, but nevertheless offered valuable opportunities to meet and discuss current issues with His All-Holiness. The upcoming visit, on the other hand, offers a unique opportunity to deepen this dialogue in a more peaceful setting. I am looking forward to the trip and the opportunity to thank our Ecumenical Patriarch for his visit to Finland on behalf of our Church, and to discuss important issues concerning the entire Orthodox world,” states His Eminence Archbishop Leo on the website of the Autonomous Church of Finland.

Also, as part of the visit, His Eminence Archbishop Leo of Finland will meet with the Ambassador of Finland to Turkey, Ms. Pirkko Hämäläinen on Monday, 15 April 2024.
