The Archbishop of Australia is the keynote speaker at the 3rd International Conference on the Hellenic Diaspora

“The Orthodox Church and its mission in the world” is the topic that will be developed by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, as a keynote speaker at the 3rd International  Conference entitled “Contemporary and Diachronic Aspects of the Hellenic Diaspora”, which is co-organized by the Australian Charles Darwin University and the Greek Universities of the Aegean and Macedonia.

The International Conference on the Hellenic Diaspora will take place over three days from 26 to 28 May 2022, with the participation of sixty academic researchers from various universities in Greece, Australia, America, Canada, Europe and Africa, who will highlight thematic units related to the Church, language, literature, culture, history and daily life of the Hellenic Diaspora over time, both in Australia and elsewhere on earth.

The speech of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia is scheduled for 6.45 p.m. (ACST) on the afternoon of Thursday, May 26 (12.15 pm, Greece time), immediately after the official opening of the Conference.
