The Ambassador of Israel to Australia visits the Holy Archdiocese of Australia
On Wednesday, 21 February 2024, His Excellency Mr. Amir Maimon, Ambassador of Israel to Australia visited the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia in Sydney.
Mr. Maimon was warmly received by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. During their meeting, a fruitful discussion took place relating to issues of common interest.
Among other things, the Ambassador of Israel informed the Archbishop of Australia about the developments in the Middle East, with His Eminence repeating his call for an end to the state of war and for peace to prevail. Both His Eminence and Mr. Maimon warmly referred to the beneficial presence of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and its contribution towards the direction of peace in the wider region.
Also, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia informed His Excellency Mr. Maimon about the upcoming Apostolic Visit of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to Australia, during the culmination of the centenary celebrations of the local Church.
