The Ambassador of Greece in Australia visits the Archdiocesan District of Northcote

On Friday, 8 December 2023, the Ambassador of Greece in Australia, His Excellency Mr. Georges Papacostas visited the headquarters of the Archdiocesan District of Northcote in Victoria. His Excellency Mr. Papacostas was joined by his wife and the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Mr. Emmanuel Kakavelakis.

His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, received the honourable entourage on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.

His Grace Bishop Evmenios welcomed the visitors and after their tour of the premises of the historic Holy Monastery of “Axion Esti”, informed the Ambassador about the vision of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia for the creation of the Greek Cultural Centre. The prospective plans for this pioneering project are already being prepared and will be completed shortly, as His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta informed.
