The 21st anniversary of the enthronement of the Metropolitan of Chalkida

The Holy Metropolis of Chalkida celebrated the 21st anniversary of the enthronement of Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida.

The celebration took place at the Parish Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Kanithos, Chalkida, and began with the long-established arrival of the holy relics of the Holy Martyrs Raphael Nicholas and Irene from Lesvos.

Specifically, on the afternoon of Wednesday, 11 January 2023, His Eminence Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida welcomed the holy relics with the appropriate honours, and then the Hierarchical Vespers were performed, officiated by His Grace Bishop Philotheos of Rogoi. The next day in the aforementioned Church, the Matins, and the Divine Liturgy were co-officiated by Bishop Philotheos of Rogoi and Bishop Philotheos of Oreoi, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida and many Priests and Deacons, while Metropolitan Dorotheos of Syros attended the service, who, despite the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the seas, came and honoured the Metropolitan of Chalkida.

The holy relics of Saints Raphael Nicholas and Irene will remain in the Church until Wednesday, 25 January 2023.
