Tales of Asia Minor told through a series of audio narratives

The Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation offers a series of audio narratives, which aim to bring the listeners in contact with the folklore tradition of Asia Minor, as it was transferred through the historical source of the Asia Minor Chronicles.

The Asia Minor Chronicles, after all, are the first systematic recording of traditions from Asia Minor, almost immediately after the catastrophe.

Stories owe much of their charm to narrators. The well-known storyteller and pioneer of neo-narrative Sasa Voulgari, the versatile director and actor Costas Gakis and the visual artist and narrator Kalliopi Liadi, are the artists who will tell in their own unique way fairy tales that they have chosen through the Asia Minor Chronicles.

The stories will be available for free to the public. In order to receive the information about their release, as well as the digitized fairy tales in their e-mail, you are required to fill in the registration form: https://forms.gle/8Xr7XoonwsYjcmQq7.

On the occasion of the centenary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation is digitizing the entire series of Chronicles of Asia Minor, much of which is stored in its Historical Library. The material is completed in collaboration with the Union of Smyrna and will soon be available free of charge and in its entirety through the special website of the digital archives of the Foundation.
