Sydney: Procession of the Holy Relics of Saint Nectarios at the Ukrainian Parish-Community of Saint Savvas the New of Kalymnos

On Sunday 3 September 2023, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint George, Yellow Rock, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Ieronymos Voultsidis, visited the Ukrainian Parish-Community of Saint Savvas the New of Kalymnos in the suburb of Banksia in Sydney, and also presided over the feast day of the finding of the Holy Relics of Saint Nectarios of Aegina.

Father Ieronymos officiated during the Matins Service, presided over the Divine Liturgy and the Litany of the Holy Relics of Saint Nectarios, and was joined by Parish Priest Fr. Sava Pizanias, and other clergy.

It is worth noting that the Parish of Saint Savvas the New of Kalymnos is blessed to possess not only part of the Holy Relics of Saint Nectarios, but one of His personal chalice covers, which was used during the Divine Liturgy.

The church filled with many believers during the Divine Liturgy, while the participation in the fundraising event that followed, in support of the work of the Holy Monastery of Saint George, Yellow Rock, was similarly well attended. The event included a spiritual speech by the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint George, Yellow Rock, Archimandrite Ieronymos, regarding spiritual progress, the importance of prayer and the intercessions of our Saints.
