Switzerland Monastery establishes Romanian school in honour of Saint Gregory the Teacher

The Monastery of the Protection of the Theotokos in Switzerland, has recently established a Romanian school named after Saint Gregory the Teacher in its vicinity.

With the assistance of the Department for Romanians Abroad, the structure of the prospective Romanian school was purchased and will be renovated.

The school’s mission is to contribute to preserving and affirming the spiritual and cultural identity of Romanians abroad.

The initiative seeks to equip and modernise functional spaces to implement various educational programs. The architecture firm has signed a contract to execute the plans for the building’s development and transformation.

In its ten years, the Swiss monastery has hosted numerous events promoting Romanian heritage and spiritual, educational, cultural, social, and philanthropic endeavors.

The “St Gregory the Teacher” School will organise Byzantine music classes for children and adolescents as its first activity.
