Sunday of the Prodigal Son was celebrated by Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv

On the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, 3 March 2024, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy in the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv.

The head of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine was accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Lavrentiy of Luhansk and Starobilsk, His Eminence Archbishop Mitrofan of Kharkiv and Sloboda lands, His Grace Bishop Efrem of Vasylkiv, the Fathers of the Zolotoverkh Monastery and invited clergy.

After the Gospel reading, the Metropolitan delivered a sermon and offered a special prayer to the Lord during this time of national peril.

Prayers were also offered for the Ukrainian soldiers defending the country, for the government, and for the people of Ukraine. Additionally, prayers were said for the repose of the souls of all fallen defenders of the Motherland and civilians who have perished in the ongoing conflict.
