Seventh day of unseasonally rainy weather in Greece

Greece can expect yet another day of unseasonally rainy weather on Saturday, the seventh in a row, according to the latest forecast by the National Observatory of Athens weather service meteo.gr.

The atmospheric disturbance, now much diminished, is forecast to cause local showers and storms, especially on the mainland, the islands of the Ionian Sea and Crete. The phenomena will be strongest in parts of Epirus and western Central Greece and in the Peloponnese, with potentially significant quantities of rain. Storms in these areas may also be accompanied by small-diameter hail. Rain and storms are possible in Attica for the sixth consecutive day.

The Regional Precipitation Index (RPI) developed and used by meteo.gr has dropped to category 1.
