Second Salutations to the Holy Theotokos at the Church of The Holy Trinity, Hobart, Tasmania

On Friday evening, 18 March, 2022, His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis conducted the Salutations service from the church of Holy Trinity in Hobart.

It was the first service in Tasmania that His Grace served following his recent episcopal ordination.

Assisting His Grace was Very Reverend Nicholas Bozikis who is assisting on a temporary basis at St George Hobart and Parish Priest of Holy Trinity Reverend Father Dimitrios Katsis.

In his sermon His Grace spoke about the significance of the Virgin Mary for us Orthodox Christians and the importance of praying to Her.

Moreover His Grace spoke about the importance of unity and love and that the people of Tasmania are blessed to have three churches in the State providing the people of Tasmania every opportunity to come and worship Christ.

In turn, Father Dimitrios thanked His Grace for his attendance and for everything His Grace has done for the island. Moreover he thanked His Grace for the love he has shown towards the people of Tasmania.

Father then presented His Grace a gift , an engolpion of Holy Trinity.

His Grace thanked Father and his Committee and conveyed the love and blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. Moreover His Grace informed the congregation that His Eminence will be visiting Tasmania in June,  an opportunity to see His Eminence and to seek His Blessing.

A dinner was served afterwards in honour of His Grace.
