The Ecumenical Patriarchate announced that on the feast of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, the Thronal Feast of the Holy Great Church of Christ will be celebrated at the Patriarchal Church on Wednesday, 29 November 2023 at 4.30 p.m. The Great Vespers will be officiated by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and on Thursday, 30 November 2023, the established Patriarchal and Synodal Divine Liturgy will be celebrated.
His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey will preach the Holy Sermon.
As in every year, at the Thronal Feast Day, an official Delegation of the Church of Rome under the leadership of Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity will also attend the celebrations.
After the conclusion of the Vespers Service, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will tonsure Mr. Leonidas Tzonis from Athens, as an Archon Offikialios of the Holy Great Church of Christ.
