Pilgrimage to the Monastery of Archangel Gabriel by Metropolitan Daniel of Aksum

A pilgrimage to the Ethiopian Orthodox Monastery of the Archangel Gabriel (Zeway Hamere Berhane St. Gebriel Monastery) on the shores of Lake Ziway (Batu), 162 kilometers from the Ethiopian capital, in south-central Ethiopia, was made by His Eminence Metropolitan Daniel of Aksum, accompanied by Archimandrite Markos and Deacon Aidesios.

In the Monastery, a male brotherhood lives under the guidance of the local Bishop Abuna Gregorios and hosts a Theological School with approximately 400 students.

Archbishop Daniel had the opportunity to pray in front of the miraculous Icon of Archangel Gabriel and to speak to the seminarians about the Orthodox faith.

He also offered material assistance to the School and distributed blessings to all.
